Eligibility

Engineering students currently pursuing bachelor’s degree (final year BE/BTech only), master’s degree (ME/MTech) or research students pursuing their PhD from aerospace, mechanical, electronics and allied engineering departments
Not older than 30 years as on 1st of January 2011
Externally registered/Employer sponsored students may not be eligible for this contest
Individual or a team of maximum three can participate

Cash Reward

A sum of INR 100,000 cash reward in each of the two award categories is distributed to the winners in the below manner:
- INR 40,000 and INR 20,000 cash prizes for the award winners and runners up respectively – only for bachelor’s & master’s students
- INR 40,000 cash prize in each category for award winner among research students
The best work will be considered for presentation at the key corporate event of Mahindra Satyam
All finalists will be awarded a certificate of participation.

Aerospace Young Engineer Award: Below are the two main topics we invite nominations

Composite Structures - Smart Structures, Joints, material/ manufacturing techniques and Repair methods
Avionics - Model-based avionics algorithm design, Smart Embedded avionics controllers

Sub-systems: Sensors, actuators, advanced motion controls
System Design: INTEGRATION, modeling and virtual prototyping
Innovative Applications: in areas like Robotics, mobile platforms, Unmanned vehicles, Energy/Automotive/Transportation systems, Micro Mechatronics

Abstracts of the nominations are to be sent in the prescribed format to YoungEngineer_Award@mahindrasatyam.com
First-level Shortlisting: Based on submitted abstracts. Shortlisted teams will be notified separately for submitting the full length paper within a period of about 3 months
Second-level Shortlisting: Full length papers will be evaluated and the finalists will be invited to Mahindra Satyam conference to present their work/demonstration/prototype of concept to the panel of judges
The panel will make the third and final round of evaluation based on the presentations and select the winners and runners up in each award category
Winners and finalists will be invited to the award ceremony which would be organized along with the conference

NOTE:

There is no participation fee for this contest
Submission of abstracts, full length papers, presentation at each level should be endorsed by relevant authority from respective college/institute/university, for the originality of the work being nominated
Full length papers need to be submitted along with an authorization form for copyright transfer and permission to publish, from authors & college authority
Evaluation criteria considers: originality, depth of content, application of new method, technology or tool, industry oriented-practically feasible solution, analysis and interpretation
Decision and evaluation of the panel at each level of shortlisting is considered as final
Mahindra Satyam at its discretion can revise the nomination guidelines, qualify/disqualify any particular nomination at any point of this contest if found inappropriate

Announcement of winners	To be announced
