| REACH Framework |
REACH (Registration, Evaluation & Authorization of Chemicals) regulation enacted by EU came into effect from June 2007, and has replaced the existing 40-odd regulations. All the manufacturers, traders and importers of chemical substances in EU have come under the purview. Non-compliance to the legislation denies access to the EU market. Mahindra Satyam is one of the first service providers to come out with a dedicated Center of Excellence (CoE) for REACH solutions
REACH specifically applies to all chemical substances that are manufactured in or imported into the EU for ownership or further conversion into finished products. It is not just manufacturers and distributors of chemicals that have to comply, but all downstream industries that use chemicals in their end products exported from the EU will also be affected as further legislation ensues. |
