Vineet Nayyar
Chairman


Vineet Nayyar is the Chairman of Mahindra Satyam. An accomplished leader, Vineet has led several organizations across industries creating high performing teams and successful businesses. He has a rich and varied experience having worked with the Government, international multilateral agencies and the corporate sector both public and private in a career that spans over 40 years.

Vineet holds a master’s degree in Development Economics from Williams College, Massachusetts and started his career with the Indian Administrative Service. While in the Government, he held series of senior positions, including that of a District Magistrate, Secretary Agriculture & Rural development for the Government of Haryana and Director, Department Of Economic Affairs, Government of India. Mr. Nayyar worked with the World Bank for over 10 years in a series of senior assignments, including successively being the Chief for the Energy, Infrastructure and the Finance Divisions for East Asia and Pacific.

In the Corporate sector, Mr. Nayyar was the founding Chairman & Managing Director of the state owned Gas Authority of India. And in the Private Sector, he served as the Manging Director of HCL Corporation and as the Vice Chairman of HCL Technologies. He was also the founder & CEO of HCL Perot Systems.

In addition to his current responsibilities as the Chairman of Mahindra Satyam and Vice-Chairman of Tech Mahindra, he serves as a Director on the Boards of Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Heavy Electricals, Great Eastern Shipping, Business Standard and Kotak Life Insurance.

A. S. Murty
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)


A.S. Murty (also known as ASM), in his current role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), is responsible for technology competency and innovation, as well as the creation of technology assets and IP, especially for Enterprise Business Services and new technology areas.

He also leads specialized services such as engineering, consulting and Infrastructure Management Services (IMS), which will be managed with independent P&L responsibilities and Mahindra Satyam Learning World, which provides technical education and training to associates. He is responsible for key functions such as resource fulfillment and resource optimization across the organization. The CIO’s organization (internal information systems, networks & systems) also reports to him.

ASMjoined Satyam in 1994 and has a deep understanding of the organization and of the IT industry, and he brings proven expertise in overseeing global delivery, nurturing customer relationships, leading a business unit, and spearheading the strategic use of human resources for competitive advantage.

During February to June 2009 as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Satyam, ASM led the company through turbulent times with great efficiency and tremendous commitment.

During the last 15 years, ASM has played several other key roles in the company, such as the Head of Global Delivery, Head of the Leadership Development, Head of Human Resources, and Head of the insurance vertical, among others. An electrical engineer from National Institute of Technology (Warangal), ASM joined Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) after completing his masters' degree in School of Automation from the Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore) in 1981.

ASM is recognized for cultivating a culture of over-achievement at Satyam, enabling “ordinary people to do extraordinary things” via formal mentoring programs, comprehensive attitude and skills development, continuous learning, and a process-centric approach to things.

A keen lover of sports, ASM is a Mahindra Satyam champion in chess and is an avid cricket fan.

Atul Kunwar
President


Atul Kunwar leads the Business Development & Customer Relationships for Mahindra Satyam and is based in NJ, USA.

Before joining Mahindra Satyam, Atul was leading Tech Mahindra’s Asia-Pacific, R&D services (to telecom equipment providers), iPolicy Networks (security products division) businesses and M&A portfolio.

In an impressive career spanning over two decades in the IT/BPO services, Telecom & Technology business domains, Atul has successfully steered companies and multi-cultural teams through start-up, growth, turnaround, mergers & restructuring phases at leading organizations such as 3Com, Bharti BT Internet, eFunds, HCL, Syntel, and TransWorks (Aditya Birla group).

Recognized as a dynamic leader, Atul has a track record of building high performance teams, operating effective alliances and institutionalizing processes to deliver superior customer experiences and value. An accomplished speaker and an active contributor to industry forums, Atul is a recipient of “IT People Award” for Leadership in Strategy (ITes/BPO) and “Techies-Networking Man of the Year” award.

Atul is an Electrical Engineer from Delhi College of Engineering, and also holds an MBA from FMS – Delhi University.

Vijayanand Vadrevu
Senior Vice President - Strategic Initiatives


In his new role, Vijay will be assisting the CEO, in providing leadership on “Strategic Initiatives” to Mahindra Satyam, and will play a key role in scripting the growth plans of the organization.

Vijay has a vast experience in IT services industry with over 17.5 years with Wipro Technologies. For the last 3 years, he was working as Vice President and Head for Life Sciences Vertical solutions, responsible for Strategy, Sales and Delivery and was instrumental in shaping it as one of the fastest growing Verticals.

Vijay, who holds a masters degree in Computer Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, has spent more than 6 years in the US in a number of client facing and practice building roles.

Dilip Jha
Senior Vice President, Business Head – Middle East, Africa & India


Dilip Jha has over two decades of experience in starting and leading the Indian operations of several high technology companies. He has a B. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from the IIT Kanpur and an MBA from IIM Calcutta.

After a decade of business leadership at Satyam in starting and growing its footprint in telecommunication, healthcare and insurance, Dilip led the SSUs Corporate Planning & Strategy, and Quality as Sr. Vice President.

He started the emerging Healthcare, Insurance & Pharmaceuticals vertical business unit of Satyam in 2001 and has quickly steered the unit to growth segment of the company. In less than five years, each of these three vertical have matured and emerged as areas of niche leadership for Satyam.

Dilip has had a stint, as CEO, at Satyam IdeaEdge Technologies, a JV from Satyam Computer Services Ltd. Before this, he was Senior Vice President at Satyam Enterprise Solution, where he founded the Telecommunications Practice in 1996. This grew into a team of over 600 consultants for the mobile and Internet industry before being merged back in Satyam in 1999.

Prior to Satyam, he started and led the AT&T Global Systems Program in India, focused on leveraging Indian software potential for global R&D services. He was instrumental in setting up business for global RDBMS companies such as Sybase and Oracle that were looking at India both as an attractive market for their products and cost-effective source for services, globally.

Dilip spends most of his free time with his NGO, Aarohan Foundation focused on enterprise development at grass-root level.

Hari Thalapalli
Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Chief People Officer (CPO)


Hari Thalapalli serves as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Chief People Officer (CPO) of Mahindra Satyam. He has over two decades of experience in the IT industry and has been with Mahindra Satyam for the past 11 years - playing vital roles in the organization’s growth and during its turbulent phase in the recent past.

In his role as CMO, Mr. Thalapalli’s understanding of consumer behavior helped drive service innovation and brand enhancement programs for the organization.

As the CPO, Mr. Thalapalli frequently raised the performance bar to help the organization scale new heights while leveraging human capital. Mahindra Satyam has been repeatedly acknowledged for its innovative and path-breaking HR practices in many national and international forums (Hewitt and Mercer’s “Best Employer” recognitions and ASTD and Training & Development’s Global Ranking among them).

Prior to Mahindra Satyam, Mr. Thalapalli had worked in a couple of India based IT firms - both of which were in a fledgling stage at the time of his joining. He played a key role in defining and establishing HR policies and frameworks.

Active in various professional forums, he has also been on the governing body of multiple educational institutions. He received the HT Power Jobs award for “HR Excellence” in 2004 and was featured in Human Capital Asia as one of the top 40 HR professionals in Asia. In 2007, he was named as the “HR Professional of the Year” by the Asia Pacific HRM Congress.

Beyond his day-to-day responsibilities, Mr. Thalapalli enjoys adventure sports and traveling and keenly involves himself in mentoring, budding professionals.

Padma Parthasarathy
Head – Special Initiatives


Padma Parthasarathy is responsible for special initiatives, especially related to the integration between Mahindra Satyam and Tech Mahindra. She has been managing a number of post-acquisition activities at Mahindra Satyam, since May 2009.

An alumna of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and the University of Bombay, Padma has more than 20 years of experience in consulting and technology outsourcing, primarily in the financial services industry. She was earlier Vice President, Strategic Markets & Initiatives at Tech Mahindra, where her responsibilities included Mergers and Acquisitions. Padma joined Tech Mahindra from consulting firm Capco, where she was Country Manager in India, responsible for Capco’s offshore services to global clients, as well as consulting services for domestic clients. Prior to Capco, she was Vice-President of Strategic Accounts and Initiatives at Perot Systems’ Indian subsidiary.

Rakesh Soni
President


Rakesh Soni oversees the Delivery operations for the Company’s business in North America and also provides leadership for the Infrastructure & Facilities Management operations, globally.

Before joining Mahindra Satyam, Rakesh was with Tech Mahindra as a COO, responsible for leading the operations and delivery teams of software, technical support, administration, infrastructure and quality. Apart from a keen financial acumen and bottom-line focus, Rakesh is known for spearheading several challenging projects within strict timelines and budgets.

Prior to joining Tech Mahindra, Rakesh was the EVP - Perot Systems TSI, creating and managing diverse high performance teams including resource management, quality, service delivery, human resources and finance.

In a career spanning over three decades, Rakesh has held leadership positions across high-performance multi-cultural organizations such as Abu Dhabi Computer Centre, Tata Consultancy Services, and Engineers India Ltd.

Rakesh is an IIT Kanpur alumnus and is known for his ability to demonstrate value accretion to stakeholders.

S Durga Shankar
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)


S. Durgashankar (“Durga”), is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years experience in various facets of Finance - as a Banker, Corporate Treasurer, Head of M&A and as Group CFO.

Before joining Mahindra Satyam, Durga was Group CFO with KSK Group which has interests in power development & generation. KSK Group has listed entities in India and in the AIM market in the UK. During his tenure, KSK successfully listed on the Indian bourses and its initial public offer was over-subscribed amidst turbulent and choppy market conditions.

Prior to his stint with KSK, Durga was with the Mahindra Group for around a decade where he held various positions – as Treasurer, VP-Corporate Strategy and Senior VP-Mergers & Acquisitions. He set up and was head of M&M’s Mergers & Acquisitions department and during his tenure, M&M completed various domestic and international acquisitions successfully.

Prior to M&M, Durga was with ICICI Ltd (erstwhile development financial institution) for a period of 13 years and was head of its Chennai Zonal operations.

Durga has served on the Boards of various companies during his tenure at ICICI and at M&M. He has also been a speaker at various M&A seminars organized by CII, CRISIL, IIFT etc.

Manish Mehta
Chief Delivery Officer - Europe, APAC, MEA, India


Manish Mehta is the Delivery Head for Europe, APAC, MEA and India regions in Mahindra Satyam. Previously, Manish was heading Mahindra Satyam’s SAP and Managed Testing practices. Manish propelled Mahindra Satyam’s SAP and Testing practices into the global marketplace. Infusing delivery and operational excellence in carefully differentiated segments, he has unearthed opportunities with unceasing gusto leveraging incisive market insights, deep domain knowledge, innovative technology applications, and cementing mutually-rewarding customer partnerships. Under Manish’s Leadership Mahindra Satyam’s SAP practice was recognized amongst the top 5 global players by Forrester, and won Frost & Sullivan’s Competitive Strategy Leadership Award for Offshore Testing Market (2007). Within Mahindra Satyam, SAP and Testing practices were rated amongst the fastest growing horizontal competency units.

Manish holds a masters’ degree in Industrial Development and Chemistry from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Manish has over 28 years of rich and varied experience in the IT industry. He began his career at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). In 15 years, he made significant contributions to technical competency, project management, training, quality assurance, marketing, and business development. He established and headed the TCS operations in Germany, facilitated ISO 9001 certification in several delivery centers, and managed large leading-edge technology projects deploying teams operating out of multiple global locations. While at Datamatics, he established and profitably managed a strategic business unit for banking and finance till he was promoted to head all business operations.

Over the last twelve years with Mahindra Satyam, Manish has contributed significantly in various capacities to the company’s growth. Manish has been responsible for the growth of a number of strategic, horizontal competency, and vertical business units like manufacturing, automotive, engineering services, ADMS, SAP, and Testing.
