Satyam Wins CA's VIP Award
- Internal implementation honored for 'Impact' category
Hyderabad, India, June 04, 2007 : Satyam Computer Services,
Ltd. (NYSE:SAY), a leading global consulting and information technology services
company, announced today that it recently won Computer Associates' Vision,
Impact, Progress (VIP) Award for an internal implementation and optimization
of CA's service desk platform. The award, given by CA's Business Service Optimization
Business Unit, recognizes organizations that create demonstrable and measurable
results from improved IT, especially in terms of productivity, financial benefits,
quality improvements, and customer satisfaction. Satyam was recognized in the
award's Impact category, and was the only India-based company so honored.
Satyam used CA's Service Desk Framework to create a central service desk,
which enabled it to automate manual ticket-handling processes. Additionally,
the organization integrated the tool with several other robust CA modules,
including CA Network and Server Management with performance monitoring and
CA Software Delivery. As a result, service delivery monitoring and management
improved significantly.
The implementation has helped Satyam use common service delivery methods
to streamline operations and conform to standards. It also helped the organization
instill industry best practices in service support and service delivery processes.
Moreover, other Satyam functions, such as internal information systems and
finance, have successfully leveraged the tool. Others, including infrastructure
support and human resources, will follow suit shortly.
Additional benefits include:
- A uniform user experience
- Improved incident response
- A single platform to address application and non-IT support
- Trending and decision-making metrics
- A case study for a go-to-market opportunity
- Increased brand value
With CA tools such as CA Service Desk, CA Asset Management, and CA Software
Delivery, Satyam has improved response and resolution times for internal IT
tickets by more than 100 percent. As a result, customer satisfaction has increased
dramatically.
"Earning a CA VIP Award is a great honor for Satyam," said
Sridhar Krishnamoorthy, a vice president in charge of the organization's
Network and Systems team. "The project demonstrates
our ability to implement complex, large-scale systems and solutions. To be
recognized for that capability at an event such as CA World, which is attended
by more than 4,500 CXOs and senior IT executives, makes the award even more
powerful."
