Satyam Opens Development Center in Vizag
- Region’s engineering colleges will provide many of the 2000 professionals
slated to work at facility in the next one and half years
Vizag, India, May 3, 2007: Satyam Computer Services Ltd.,
(NYSE: SAY), a leading global consulting and information technology services
company, today opened its first facility in this port city, which is also known
as Vizag. The 6.5-acre campus at Resapuvani Palem was inaugurated by the Honorable
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Other dignitaries
participating in the ceremony include T Subbi Rama Reddy, Union Minister of
State for Mines and Konathala Ramakrishna, Minister for Commercial Taxes, Government
of Andhra Pradesh among others.

The Vizag Center, the second Satyam facility in Andhra Pradesh (the other
is in Hyderabad), will employ about 750 associates during its first phase.
Thirteen hundred more will join before Phase II is complete. These professionals
will deliver a broad range of services, led by information technology and business
process outsourcing for customers in Asia and Europe.
The Vizag region is renowned for its natural beauty, notably its pristine
beaches and, farther inland, the rolling green hills and pleasant climate of
the Araku Valley. It is an exceptional business location, too, said Srinivas
Vadlamani, Satyam’s chief financial officer.
“There are a dozen engineering colleges in and around the city,
and we will rely upon them to provide many of the professionals who will
work in the new development center,”Vadlamani said. “In
