| Awareness Program on Water Conservation
| Depletion of natural resources such as water is a serious concern. Unless we find ways and means to conserve it, water will become a scare commodity for our future generations.
| As good habits need to be inculcated from an early age, Mahindra Satyam Foundation (Education Program) collaborated with CII (Confederation of Indian Industries) to take up ‘Water Conservation’ Program in the Govt. schools we have adopted. During the month of November 2009, about 600 students of class VII, VIII and IX from five Government schools in Hyderabad ( Punjagutta Govt. High school, Ameerpet Govt. High school , Yellareddyguda Govt. High school, Erramanzil Govt. High school and Vengalrao Nagar Govt. High school )participated in this drive.

| The program became very popular among the children and received tremendous support from school Head Masters as well as the teachers. The module of the program has been designed in such a way that it is both interesting as well as interactive with extensive use of cartoons, short clips and Q&A.

| “The session on water conservation was very useful and informative for the children. As the methodology used was simple, it was easy for the children to grasp the subject. The session emphasized on the importance of water and how to save water. It also covered all the points in our syllabus and we would like to use the same presentation for future classes as well.” – SV. Subba Reddy, Head Master, GHS Ameerpet

“We didn’t know that we were wasting so much water. We learnt about how best water can be recycled and reused. The session made us more aware of the need to save water. With information on how to save water we will ensure that water is not wasted and is used carefully- be it in school, home and community." - K.Suresh, Class IX student, GHS Panjagutta
